Conducting business alongside social and environmental responsibility has always been the approach of “Pruksa” under the concept of "Caring for Life... Live well Stay well". Over the years, Pruksa has delivered living values that encompass creating "well-being factors for good health and good communities" through various activities within the ESG framework concerning environment, society, and governance. Recently, in collaboration with the Smile Foundation for the Disabled, Pruksa launched the "Plant to Plate" project to support agricultural products from the disabled and promote healthy eating habits to enhance the well-being of residents. This project not only creates opportunities for the disabled to improve their quality of life but also promotes a healthy lifestyle for residents, aligning with Pruksa's ESG goals of creating an equitable society and sustainable development.

Previously, Pruksa supported social equality by assisting disabled individuals in rural areas through the “Homes for the Disabled By PRUKSA” project, which is part of the ESG framework focusing on social aspects that enhance the quality of life for the disabled, allowing them to live comfortably and with dignity. This creates well-being factors for the community. The Plant to Plate project builds upon the Homes for the Disabled By PRUKSA initiative, aiming to generate income for the disabled while also benefiting Pruksa residents.

Plant to Plate Connects Organic Produce from Training Centers to Communities

The Plant to Plate project originated from the Smile Foundation for the Disabled receiving funding from the Vichitphongpan Foundation, a personal donation from Khun Thongma Vichitphongpan, the founder of Pruksa, who provided funds to support the establishment of a learning center for product processing at the ASEAN Training Center for the Disabled in Nakhon Pathom. This center serves as a vocational training hub for the disabled in agriculture, including soil and hydroponic vegetable cultivation, worm composting, cricket and mushroom farming, as well as melon and tomato cultivation. All produce is chemical-free, benefiting consumers' health.

Pruksa's volunteer employees who visited the center recognized the potential for further development and proposed linking the produce from the center to Pruksa projects. They opened up space for the foundation to sell organic products to residents in nearby Pruksa projects at no cost. Additionally, they organized free hydroponic vegetable growing workshops for interested residents.

Good Eating, Good Living, Good Happiness: Benefits for All Parties

The Plant to Plate project is designed to benefit all parties based on the concept of "Good Eating, Good Living, Good Happiness", which includes:

Good Eating – Residents in Pruksa projects consume chemical-free vegetables, both from purchasing produce grown by the disabled and from growing their own using knowledge gained from training.

Good Living – Residents experience improved health from consuming safe food free from chemicals, aligning with the current trend of health consciousness.

Good Happiness – There is joy for both givers and receivers, as residents feel happy supporting and helping the disabled, while the disabled gain income and pride from delivering quality products to consumers.

Disabled participants in the project expressed feelings that impressed both Pruksa and its residents. They felt excited and enjoyed the new experience of selling products, meeting real customers, and took pride in being educators in vegetable cultivation. They felt more valued, having previously seen themselves as a burden, but this project allowed them to be part of society, achieving equality and transforming burdens into strengths.

Concrete Promotion of ESG

The “Plant to Plate” project reflects Pruksa's commitment to conducting business within the ESG framework, particularly in the social dimension, aiming to create opportunities and equality for everyone in society. In terms of the environment, it promotes the production and consumption of eco-friendly food, reducing chemical use in production processes, which helps mitigate impacts on the overall ecosystem. In terms of governance, Pruksa demonstrates transparency and responsibility by supporting projects that benefit all parties fairly.

Pruksa believes that sustainable growth can only occur when all sectors of society grow together. Therefore, the Plant to Plate project is not just a CSR initiative but part of a business strategy aimed at creating shared value for all parties, including the company, customers, and society as a whole.
